Adverbs Position

副詞は、文の意味に細かい温度を足すつまみ。

just, only, almost, still, already, probably, actually は短いが、置き方で意味が大きく変わる。

程度	どれくらい強いか	This is slightly risky.
時間	もう、まだ、ちょうど	I just pushed a fix.
確信	たぶん、実際には	This is probably a cache issue.
焦点	どこだけを見るか	I only updated the docs.

I just pushed a fix.
I've already pushed a fix.
I'm still working on the fix.
I haven't pushed the fix yet.

just は「たった今」「ただ」。already は「もう済んでいる」。still は「まだ続いている」。yet は否定や疑問で「まだ」。

I only fixed the login bug.
I fixed only the login bug.
I fixed the login bug only.

どれも近いが、only は近くにある語に焦点を当てる。実務では誤解を避けるため、I only fixed the login bug, not the signup bug. のように補足すると安全。

This is probably a cache issue.
Maybe this is a cache issue.
Actually, this is a config issue.

probably はかなりありそう。maybe は可能性の提示。actually は相手の想定や前の話を少し修正する感じがある。

NG: Almost users were affected.
OK: Most users were affected.
OK: Almost all users were affected.

almost は「ほとんど〜」だが、名詞に直接付けるなら almost all users。most users は「大半のユーザー」。

Natural: I'm still investigating it.
Natural: The issue is still open.
Awkward: Still I'm investigating it.

still は普通、be動詞の後ろ、一般動詞の前に置く。

Risky: Actually, you're wrong.
Natural: I think there may be a different issue.
Natural: Actually, I found a different root cause.

actually は訂正のニュアンスが出る。人を直接否定するより、事実や発見に寄せる。

I just pushed a small fix.
I'm still checking the logs.
I only updated the docs, not the implementation.

This is probably fine for the first iteration.
This helper is slightly easier to test.
We should also cover the empty state.

The error rate is still above the threshold.
The issue was actually caused by a missing config.
We almost rolled back, but the service recovered.
