文の骨格は、英語の最重要インフラ。

英語では、動詞を見ると「後ろに何が来るか」がかなり決まる。ここを押さえると、コロケーションも覚えやすくなる。

型を暗記するより、動詞が後ろに何を要求するかを見る。

make は、何かを作るだけでなく、ある状態を作る感覚が強い。

We made the error message clearer.
This change makes the onboarding flow easier.

make + object + adjective は「目的語をその状態にする」。

get は、受け取る、到着する、状態になる、状態にする、という広い動きを持つ。

I got feedback from the reviewer.
We need to get the release notes ready.
I got the tests passing.

make は「作る」力が強く、get は「そこまで持っていく」感じがある。

take は、時間、責任、行動、機会を自分側に引き受ける。

I'll take responsibility for this.
Let's take a closer look at the logs.
This migration may take a few minutes.

do は、具体的な成果物よりも、作業や活動に焦点がある。

I'll do the investigation first.
We should do a quick review before merging.

ただし、コードを書くなら do coding より write code や implement the feature のほうが自然なことが多い。

NG: We discussed about the issue.
OK: We discussed the issue.
OK: We talked about the issue.

discuss は他動詞なので、すぐ後ろに目的語を置く。日本語の「〜について」に引っ張られて about を入れない。

NG: I joined to the meeting.
OK: I joined the meeting.
OK: I attended the meeting.

join も目的語を直接取る。join to ではなく join the meeting。

NG: We made easy the setup.
OK: We made the setup easy.
OK: We made it easier to set up.

SVOC では、目的語の後ろに状態を置く。

Let me make sure I understood the goal.
This makes the trade-off clearer.
Can you send me the latest design?

This change makes the error handling safer.
Could you make the variable name more specific?
I sent you a small suggestion in the PR.

The cache caused the stale response.
We got the service back online.
The retry logic made the issue harder to reproduce.
