この回で覚えること

第1回は、会話の返しに出てくる短い表現を覚える。

lowkey は「少し」「実は」「控えめに言って」という温度感を足す副詞。対になる highkey も一緒に覚えると、強弱を作りやすい。

lowkey / highkey の使い分け

lowkey は、気持ちを少し隠しながら言う表現。

I'm lowkey stressed.
ちょっとストレスを感じている。

highkey は、隠さず強く言う表現。

I'm highkey stressed.
かなりストレスを感じている。

大人が使うなら、lowkey は比較的まだ自然に使いやすい。一方で highkey はかなり若い響きが出る。

安全に使いやすい表現

ngl, tbh, valid, same, no cap は、短いリアクションとして比較的理解されやすい。

Ngl, this is harder than I expected.
Tbh, I prefer the previous version.
That's valid.
Same.
No cap, this is helpful.

注意が必要な表現

periodt, IJBOL, dead, sending me, womp womp はネット文脈や親しい相手向け。仕事の会議や英語面接では避ける。

特に womp womp は相手の失敗を軽く茶化す響きがあるので、使うなら自分の失敗に対してだけにする。
